⭐️Exclusive interview⭐️ with the amazing Indy Perro author of Central City and Journeyman! It was such an honor to have the opportunity to sit down and get to know Indy and how he came up with the idea for both of these books!

Such an amazing master/thriller that I’ve read in awhile. The character development was impeccable. You can definitely relate to both of the characters. The ending left me wanting more, and I hope to revisit these characters soon!

Picture a black and white movie set in the 90’s

Once this audiobook of Central City started I kept seeing the characters Vinnie Bayonne and Adam McKenna and the background in a classic black and white movie scene but taking place in the 90’s, the audiobook actor really brings that seedy big city feel to life!

Central City is described in a way that makes me think of dark streets of New York or tight streets of Chicago.  Corruption is king and violence is his Queen and the path and search for justice is a long dark, twisted road with no straight path.  The case was very thought provoking to follow and work through and I was dropping everything to listen closely at the description of the crime scenes, I didn’t want to miss a word!

The character development throughout this complicated who dunnit was phenomenal, I was drawn to good and bad alike because the line between the two gets so blurred!  I highly recommend this exceptional audiobook!

A Five Star Read For Me!

Central City, as brought to life in this masterfully narrated audiobook by Indy Perro, is a riveting journey into the heart of a gritty crime/mystery set against the backdrop of a city teetering on the edge of lawlessness. The plot, skillfully avoiding tired tropes, follows the seasoned Detective Vinnie Bayonne and his green partner Adam McKenna as they delve into a string of murders that unravel the intricate web of organized crime.

The narration, reminiscent of a black and white movie from the ’90s, adds a layer of atmospheric depth, making the story pop with vivid imagery. The characters, initially grounded in familiar detective archetypes, undergo a transformation, evolving into fully realized individuals. The efficient prose, adorned with dark humor, propels the narrative forward at breakneck speed, ensuring that the audiobook maintains its grip on the listener’s attention.

The detailed descriptions of crime scenes and forensics, although unsettling, serve a dual purpose—they provoke a thoughtful response and contribute to the immersive storytelling. The unexpected twists in the plot keep the suspense alive, with the seemingly unrelated storylines converging in a satisfying third act that is sure to surprise even the most discerning listeners.

Overall, Central City’s audiobook succeeds not only in its compelling narrative but also in the way it is expertly narrated, making the characters and their turbulent world come alive. For fans of fast-paced mystery/suspense procedurals, this audiobook earns its stripes, offering an engaging and thought-provoking experience that lingers long after the final chapter.

The book is your typical crime /gang aesthetic, it’s set in modern times but to be honest it feels like it was more so based in a time much older than now. Two detectives delve into the world of organized crime and come to discover the backstabbing and underground work that comes with it.
